Inaprubahan kamakailan ni Pangulong Arroyo ang P11.3 Bilyong karagdagang badyet para sa automated elections. Ang paghahanap ng gobyerno ng mga kompanyang magsusuplay sa mga makina at magdidisenyo sa sistemang gagamitin sa halalan, inilarga rin.
