Reemalum Philippines offers global standard jobs for Filipino engineers, CAD designers

(Manila, Philippines, June 20, 2008) – The strategic design division of a United Arab Emirates-based curtain wall design and fabricator company in the Philippines is spearheading major construction projects in Abu Dhabi, creating new employment opportunities for skilled Filipino workers in the Philippines.

Reemalum Philippines (RAP), the Southeast Asia division of Reem Emirates Aluminum (REA), is recruiting Filipino structural engineers and CAD designers who will work for REA without having to leave the Philippines.

RAP is one of many foreign companies outsourcing key business processes to Filipinos residing in the Philippines and creating high-paying jobs in the country. According to Mr. Derek Bruce, REA General Manager, the company chose the Philippines as the location of its strategic design business division due to its advanced information technology and infrastructure, high literacy, favorable foreign direct investment incentives, and attractive labor costs compared to other countries.

“The Philippines is known internationally for producing talented engineers and architects. REA is fortunate to have the opportunity to leverage this attractive HR resource,” Mr. Bruce said.

REA is positioning its Philippines office to deliver sustained shareholder value and maximize customer satisfaction. Locally, it wants to become a preferred local employer. “RAP provides additional design manpower strength to REA, and its business design provides the parent company a competitive edge in terms of cost and efficiency without compromising quality and client satisfaction,” said Mr. Bruce.

RAP services REA clients in the UAE, with projects in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Local engineers and designers coordinate with UAE-based consultants and architects in all phases of the projects. Local specialists focus on conceptualization and execution of curtain wall designs.

Curtain walls are thin, aluminum-framed, glass in-filled walls that are attached to the building structure without carrying the floor or roof loads. They have revolutionized architectural design and are becoming an essential feature in modern construction, particularly in the booming UAE property market. They are designed to resist air and water infiltration and provide the benefits of natural daylight illumination as well as a compelling aesthetic feel.

At present, RAP employs 24 highly skilled CAD designers, CAD operators, structural engineers, and administration staff. The company is recruiting additional specialists as it expands. Mr. Bruce will visit the Philippines later this month to participate in RAP’s recruitment campaign and interview prospective Filipino employees.

“Working for RAP has many interesting rewards both in terms of compensation and training. RAP offers a very lucrative salary and with the many international projects lined up, rapid career growth is assured for capable professionals,” Mr. Bruce said.
