Brian Gorrell Brouhaha: 15 Questions Korina Sanchez Should Have Asked DJ Montano

PUBLISHED ON April 12, 2008 AT 1:31 PM

1) Were you and Brian Gorrell lovers (as opposed to “friends”)?

2) You said the money Brian sent you was for the “bills.” Brian said he lived on Boracay only for a few months. Even if we assume that the monthly upkeep was 100,000 pesos and let’s assume that Brian spent that amount each month for one year — that’s still short of the nearly 3,000,000 that he claimed he sent you over several months. What happened to the rest of the money?

3) Did you tell Brian that Marcel Crespo and Celine Lopez had promised to invest in the restaurant that, according to Brian, you and he were going to put up?

4) Did you resign from the Philippine Star or were you fired?

5) Have you ever used your position as a writer of the Philippine Star to gain favors, such as free hotel accommodations, as alleged?

6) Did you use your position in the Philippine Star to send the police to Brian’s hotel room that night that you had a fight and, allegedly, you cleaned out his safety deposit box?

7) What other sources of income did you have in order to support such a lifestyle? Allegedly, your businesses folded up but you were always in Boracay, which can be quite expensive. So if you were not using Brian’s money, as you claim, where were you deriving your income? Does the Philippine Star pay so well so as to afford such a lifestyle?

8.) Why would an HIV-positive man, who sold his property in Australia to be with you in the Philippines and who requires expensive medication in order to survive, squander all that money just to live like a king, as you and your stepfather put it? If he did, did it ever occur to you to stop him, knock some sense into him?

9) Is it true that you also owe other people money and that, as alleged by Brian, you also scammed these people?

10) Is it true that your mother, as reported by the Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism, was involved in the PEA-Amari scam?

11) As a socialite, you live such a public life. You open your life up to the public the moment you allow your name and your picture to appear regularly in the papers. How can you claim privacy now? I mean, if you value privacy, why flaunt your lifestyle?

12) Don’t you think that far from Brian being the one insulting Filipinos, the sins that you allegedly committed have done far worse damage to the image of our country and our people?

13) You claim that Brian is just using his blog to extort money from you. Normally, an extortion act goes like this: the extortionist calls up the, uh, extortionee and demands that if the extortionee doesn’t pay up, he will expose the skeletons in your closet. In his blog, Brian has exposed so much dirt about you that it would make a fertilizer factory extremely happy. Why would he risk his chances of not getting that money from you, if indeed it was extortion?

14) And if indeed it was extortion, why threaten to sue him with libel and defamation, and not extortion or some such related crime?

15) You claim that you came out because you felt the issue had gotten out of hand. Weren’t you concerned that by coming out, you are doing exactly what Brian wanted — lend his story some credibility? Before this, people actually thought this was just a person seeking attention. By coming out now, by confirming essentially Brian’s story, you’ve just added fuel to the fire. Now, the mainstream press — which exerts far more influence than all the blogs put together (contrary to their delusions that they can now change the world) and which had protected your identity for so long — can write about this without NOT mentioning you or bleeping your name. Who advised you to come out? (pinoypress.net)

    Who cares????

  2. Brian Says:

    I care.

    Brian.

    hahaha

  3. miashotdate Says:

I think Korina wanted to go deeper with her questions however the Montano’s had to screen everything. DJ’s response seemed rehearsed. He failed in convincing us that he is innocent.

  4. lieutenant Says:

Honestly all the question has been monopolized, even the dropping of the names in media or any etc, they cannot make it because they are afraid. Korina is nice but if the management will declined and not allowed they cannot make it. DJ is a shit of the shit and his family. As far as I know “higg So” people are not telling every people that they are “elite”- rate. All High-So people are quite, not flamboyant. This DJ is affecting all the filipinos around the world. He should be crucify. DJ dont let ABB and NPA or any gang shoot you, because eventhough your a ” HIGH SO” person, they will ignore it…. Just pay up, as per you mother told to Ms. Korina that she has a money to give, why dont you ask to give it back. Simply LIAR, ADDICT and WHORE…

  5. jomar Says:

We have Filipino’s love for gossip vanguard by the like of Korina, Kris and Abunda et al, masquerading as concerned public informer.

Who cares? What does it do bad to me. We have alligators and witches within the midst of our society who silently and legally draining the country.

    The money involved was peanuts!

  6. My heart goes out to you! Says:

    Brian,
Stay strong, as you have already shown to all your readers and supporters. I felt every words you have written in your website. I am also in the same boat as you are right now. My story is not much far off from yours in regards to the money part. I invested my money with a friend in the Philippines (everything was based on trust also and my only proof was a piece of paper from western union.) and I later found out that they were no business at all. It was all invisible business all along, this was three years ago…he stopped communicating with me after I asked to pull out my money. After a whole year of patiently, and desperately using many ways of getting his attention to this matter and not getting any sort of responds he finally started communicating with me again, and that is because I got into his friends from his friendster. Not to my surprise he accused me of so many things instead of facing the truth. It took me few many emails and heartache before he finally gave in that he has no way out of it but to return all my money. As of right now, I am told by him that I will see my money in three months…. all I can do now is wait three months and see if this is really it.

I am sharing with you my story to let you know and your readers that, YES! DJ Montana and the people that are around him are surely the proofs of what the country are more known of to many Filipinos abroad and to others. I am actually envy you for still having such good outlook to the country despite of your experience with this people. I have lost all mine when I visited the Philippines after so many years being away. People took advantaged of me left and right to the point that I could not enjoy my vacation anymore. The nicest Filipino people I have met are the people that are working hard overseas. They are the light of the country.

Your story and your fight has given me the courage to fight for my right…I hope that you will see some kind of light in the middle of this all. I’ll be praying for your health and for the peace you deserve to have.

    DJ,
The only way you can regain yourself from all of this is to pay up! I can’t believe that knowing, you will spend more money to go through all legal actions (which we know how those go) you rather spend that to a more ugly battle. Your dignity and principle have been long gone the moment you touched and used Brian’s money. So really even if you twisted the truth on your favor (which again, can be possibly be done over there.) that dignity and principle that you are asking will never be return to you, because you know what really the truth here. Have a heart! HIV is not a laughing matter. People that have this need all the love and understanding we can give to them. They don’t need pity…they need the support to go on and live as normal as possible. So pay up and give that peace of mind that Brian is asking…you owe that to him!

    P.S.
Brian, if you feel like my story or my comments is irrelevant to what you are trying to get out there. Please do not be obligated to post it. I really just wanted to give you my support on this. I had a family member that was HIV carrier and had passed away. I am very sad to know that you are going through this. Believe in God that he will take care of you and you will conquer all the devils in your path.

    GOD BLESSES YOU!
    Grace

  7. jomar Says:

    believe in God?

if God is the creator, then he created HIV, malaria, dengue and the like.

and if God made it, it must be good; so, why fight it?

  8. My heart goes out to you! Says:

Jomar, I know where your thoughts is going…I respect your opinion. I will include you in my prayers as well.

  9. angel Says:

    Brian,

Kudos man, i know your telling the truth, you had exposed them as much as you exposed yourself. Your story is indeed an eyeopener, that high society people has much dirt than simple people, they are all users, how dare those people live that way, animal indeed, just to be famous, shame on you. And to Grace, I was also a victim of such scam same story as yours. Brian your making me strong to fight for what I belive in. GOD Bless you! It is not the money now I know. It is the principle, IT IS JUSTICE TO THOSE WHO THINK THEY CAN GET AWAY WITH THE CRIME THEY DID. WHOEVER KNOW OR SEE A CERTAIN EMMA GRANADINO OF BAESA CALOOCAN CITY..PLS POST HERE..SHE STOLE US ALMOST 3 MILLION PESOS. AND SHE EVEN BRING HER TWO DAUGHTER WITH HER TO HIDE, TOGETHER WITH HER BOYFIREND JOEL! EMMA U CANNOT RUN FROM WHAT YOU DID!
