Workshops! Included in this summer’s roster of short courses are the
following specially designed multimedia courses for kids, teens, and
yes, even the young at heart.
ANIMATION for Children is a short course for kids and teens to be
conducted by Bryan Quesada. With this workshop, they’ll be able to
render their characters and forms through various media: clay, sand,
water color, watercolor pencils, crayons; shoot these characters in
video, edit them, and voila! They have their very own animated show!
The workshop begins on: 28 April until 02 May 2008. Fee is Ph P
6000.00 which already includes the art supplies, use of video
cameras, editing facilities, light snacks, handouts and certificates.
WRITING ABOUT FILMS: Film Appreciation for the Young by Patrick
Campos focuses on the rudiments of film appreciation and criticism,
of course delivered in a fun and enjoyable way. Let your kids explore
movies, develop their critical awareness and sharpen their writing
skills! Perfect for budding critics, journalists and writers!
Workshop begins on 19 May and ends on the 23rd of May 2008. Fee is
only Ph P 4000 which includes handouts, light snacks and certificates.
BLACK and WHITE Photography by multidisciplinary artist Vivian Limpin
is perfect for teens who would like to learn about the basics of
photography. Let them learn about composing their subject, getting
the perfect angle, adjusting the right shutter speed and ofcourse, go
through the highs of developing their own prints at the UPFI
Photolab! The workshop culminates in an exhibit at the Ishmael Bernal
Gallery, UP Diliman.
Classes are scheduled on: 28 April, 30 April, 02 May, 05 May, 07 May,
09 May 2008. Fee is Ph P 8000.00 which includes film negatives, photo
paper, chemicals for printing, use of the Photolab and equipment,
light snacks, handouts and certificates. (An SLR camera is required
for this course though.)
NON-LINEAR Editing by Ramon Bautista teaches teens who love to shoot
videos the fundamentals of editing with the aid of Adobe Premiere
Pro. With this workshop, your teens can create their very own short
films, AVP presentations which they can use for school projects as
well.
Non-Linear editing workshop begins on 14 April 2008 and ends on 16
April 2008. Fee is Ph P 5000.00 and includes the use of camera
equipment, editing facilities, light snacks, handouts and
certificates.
