I am glad to have read the article and the 2 responses from Jake and Dahalan. I am from the Province of La Union in northerwestern Philippines. We also have a lot of Malunggay here, especially in backyards and in roadsides. In fact the Provincial Government adopted Malunggay as the "official vegetable of the province."
I am curious about the economics of it being a source of biofuel. In one (1) hectare, for example, how many liters of oil can be produced? What would be the cost of processing, etc., and then the price of the finished product?
Can anyone please provide us a project study or business proposal on this? Kindly email me at mgmtrees@yahoo.com.ph
Thank you.

Yes, a good product for biofuel. A part from being a food plant, it is easy and simple to grow - also fast growing. The mature, young fruit makes a good curry with coconut milk. Aphrodisiac too !!!!!!!!

Inam looking for heavy bearing variety if you have any. I am from Malaysia.
