NDF Denies CPP-NPA Involvement in Manila Pen Siege

Mrs. Principe-Velasco has clearly explained that she was in Manila in connection with her role as NDFP political consultant, her medical examination and family matters, including the continuing search for her husband NDFP political consultant Leo Velasco who had been abducted early this year.

We are informed that Mrs. Myrna H. Buendia was a mere bystander during the Manila Peninsula hotel incident. It is utterly malicious for the officials of the Arroyo regime to keep on violating her right to private and family life by disregarding her marriage to Mr. Buendia and harping in the mass media on her alleged personal relations with Prof. Jose Maria Sison of nearly forty years ago.

This is a fallacious attempt to implicate her by innuendo in the hotel incident. We advise the mass media not to be a vehicle of malicious and impertinent gossip. The Arroyo regime is obviously engaged in a desperate spin to claim a “left-right conspiracy” and connect the CPP and NPA to the hotel takeover incident. It goes so far as to mix up the CPP and NPA with the RPA-ABB paramilitary gang of Nilo de la Cruz who is connected with the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP) and other AFP and Philippine National Police (PNP) agencies.

Mrs. Buendia is a close relative of Speaker Jose de Venecia. She is also related to some other legislators of Pangasinan and La Union. Are the minions of the fake president Mrs. Arroyo detaining her indefinitely in order to spite Speaker de Venecia? Mrs. Buendia ought to be released immediately because she was a mere bystander in the hotel incident.
