PIMENTEL DOUBTS REPORT ON ALLEGED EXISTENCE OF US
MILITARY BASES IN RP
Senate Minority Leader Aquilino “Nene” Q. Pimentel,
Jr. (PDP-Laban) today said he does not think that the
United States has set up military bases in the
Philippines since the US can maintain its military
presence in the country through the Visiting Forces
Agreement.
The consumer group POWER and the militant group Bagong Alyansang Makabayan both slammed what they described as “another tainted privatization deal brought to us by Malacañang, at great cost to the consumers.”

Human Rights Compensation Act will be finally approved
by the 14th Congress before its year-end adjournment
as the government’s Christmas gift to some 10,000
victims of martial law atrocities.
