Mr Hamid said he received pamphlets at his home which warned that if he did not stop broadcasting information deemed by the perpetrators to be anti-Islamic, there would be dangerous consequences.

A rocket was also aimed at the radio station which, despite being hit, did not suffer any major damage.

The IFJ supports its partners and journalists in the region in calling for the government to ensure a safe working environment for all media workers in Afghanistan and for the protection of freedom of expression.
