MANILA — Engineer Rodolfo Quiambao, President and CEO of Rudell & Associates, Inc., and active Filipino community leader in the northeast US, is one of the 50 recipients of the Outstanding Asian Americans in Business award given by the prestigious Asian American Business Development Center (AABDC) during its awarding ceremonies on 22 June 2007.
The AABDC, established in 1994, is a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist Asian-owned businesses to compete in the mainstream marketplace. The group designed the “Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award program” to highlight the role of Asian Americans in entrepreneurship, their achievements and contributions in American society.
Engineer Quiambao became the third Filipino American to be recognized with an Outstanding Asian American in Business award, after Lilia Clemente of Clemente Capital in 2002 and Isabelita Abele of US Lumber, Inc. in 2005.
Quiambao is the President and CEO of Rudell & Associates, Inc., a full service engineering consulting company that provides engineering, design, and project management services for nuclear and fossil generating plants, substations, transmission, distribution, commercial facilities and infrastructure projects since 1988. The company has been involved in prestigious projects including the JFK International Airport Terminal 4. An active Filipino community leader, he co-founded the Filipino American Association of Engineers (FAAE) that assists Filipino engineers through mentoring and accreditation.
He was one of the recipients of the “Pamana ng Pilipino” Award in 2002, an award conferred by President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on outstanding Filipino individuals and organizations overseas who have brought honor and recognition to the country through their distinguished achievements.
Philippine Consul General to New York Cecilia Rebong was in attendance during the awarding ceremonies. In her keynote address, US Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao emphasized the very important role and contributions of Asian Americans American society.
