Some months ago, I decided to discontinue PinoyPress, mainly because it was taking too much of my time. But I realized I just couldn’t let go of it. So it’s back. I am back.
Thanks to Wordpress, putting up a blog is now much easier. And there are gazillions of features (mainly through plugins) that Wordpress offers, some of which you will find in this blog.
For instance, you will find a “shoutbox,” where people can chat. (Thanks to Pierre’s Wordspew and Andrew Sutherland, you don’t have to refresh your browser to read each chat you posted.)
There’s also Quick Survey, thanks to Democracy, a polling plugin developed by Andrew Sutherland.
And because of the wonderful plugin CG-Feedread developed by David Chait, you can now read headlines on the Philippine press, media and journalism in a single page. You can do the same for journalism issues, trends and events around the world.
Also in a single page, you can keep track of what Filipino journalists are blogging about. You don’t have to go each of the blogs to find out what the blogger has posted. All you have to do is check out this page. (If you are a Filipino journalist and your blog is not on the list, please let me know at pinoypress [at] gmail [dot] com.)
PinoyPress aggregates — through RSS feeds processed by the CG-Feedread plugin — all these materials just for you. In a way, PinoyPress is a one-stop information site on anything related to journalism and the media. (Well, at least that’s the idea.)
There will be more features on this site. I will keep you posted.
